As of this writing, this is a known issue on Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10 operating systems. For additional information on preparing your OS for install please refer to our [release notes and install document](/v1/docs/axia-ip-driver-version-211010-release-and-install-information). ## Description of the Problem The Axia IP-Audio Driver appears to install and work fine, however, you are not able to record anything. This happens when Windows Security is applied to sound card inputs. ## Resolution The resolution is to change your microphone security settings to allow the system to have access to these devices. To do this; 1. Go to the Windows Search bar and search for Microphone Security. 2. Select Microphone Security Settings. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/93c85860-c488-45a1-b249-54d7fafa72d6-image.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-07T18%3A20%3A50Z&se=2026-11-07T19%3A20%3A50Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=T3%2FKXLqZIITojPhlQpUkHs%2FGpPY2mSbf8pHzoKkNRxc%3D) 3. Note that your settings will show "Microphone access for this device is set to off". Click on Change. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/03477692-6b76-4345-96f6-2072a3b00995-image.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-07T18%3A20%3A50Z&se=2026-11-07T19%3A20%3A50Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=T3%2FKXLqZIITojPhlQpUkHs%2FGpPY2mSbf8pHzoKkNRxc%3D) 4.
