Dolby E Encoding Checklist

Dolby E Workflow Check List:

  • Make sure your Digital Audio Workstation session is set to 24 bit.

  • Make sure that no processing whatsoever is being applied to the Dolby E stream, including redithering, gain or sample rate changes.

  • Dolby E is intimately tied to video frame boundaries, so incorrect offset will corrupt the stream: confirm your offset setting.

  • Make sure your metadata matches the program and your intended settings.

  • When laying back, don't forget to set your DVR's audio edit mode to CUT, and that it is in Data or Burst mode.

  • Also when laying back, play back and decode the Dolby E content off-tape to make sure that it decodes properly & your metadata is correct.
