# Forgotten X/20 Password

# Resetting the ZIPStream X/20 Sign In Password

## Overview

If the ZIPStream X/20 administrator password is unknown, you can reset it by checking the password stored in the application's configuration file.

> **Important:** The ZIPStream X/20 Windows cofiguration should not be overwritten. Do not make changes to the files discussed in this helpdoc. This could brick your software.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin:

- Administrative access to the Windows PC.
- A text viewer/editor, such as Notepad.

## Reset Procedure

### 1. Locate the ZIPStream X/20 Options.xml file

Navigate to the ZIPStream X/20 configuration directory:

`C:\ProgramData\Telos Systems\ZIPStream X20\`

Open the file in Notepad:

`Options.xml`

Locate the **adminpass** entry and view the existing plaintext password.

### 2. Navigate to the X/20 UI

Navigate to the ZIPStream X/20 UI

Sign in using your recovered password from the previous step

### 3. Change your password

Once signed in, navigate to the options window in top left corner

Choose Options and chage your password for the Web UI sign in

## Verification

- Open the ZIPStream X/20 Web UI.
- Log in using the updated administrator password.
- Confirm that access is successful.
