# IMPORTANT!  Surge protection information for your new product

## Scope

This document covers important information relating to power line filtering and your new gear. While we are mostly concerned about your Telos Alliance gear, this is applicable to any gear connected to AC main supplies.

## Description

The Telos Alliance strongly suggests that you use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) **with power line filtering** to prevent damage to the unit during electrical storms and power surges. Most "consumer" UPS devices provide only a backup source of power in the event of an AC power loss and generally do not provide any kind of protection against a power surge.

> Damage due to lightning or other power surge **is not covered** under the product Warranty (refer to your User Manual for warranty information).
