PDM II Front Panel
PDM II front panel features include:

The LCD display (B) is used to show the current status of PDM II and to display the menus for front-panel setup and configuration.
The navigation cluster (C) is made up of left, right, up, and down arrows plus a green "checkmark" button (generally used as an "Enter" button to confirm choices) and a red "X" button (used as a "Cancel" button to exit a menu without saving any changes).
PDM II Rear Panel
The rear panel of the PDM II contains the following connections and information:

Installation and Initial Setup
Installation
PDM II is a 1RU product intended to be permanently installed in a standard 19 ½” equipment rack and secured with four standard rack screws. It is passively cooled via vents on the sides. Whenever possible, we recommend leaving 1RU of empty space above and below the unit.
Power
Plug the supplied IEC power cord into the PDM II and connect it to an AC power source. It will adapt to any voltage between 100 and 200VAC at 50/60 Hz. PDM II draws a maximum of 1.8A and uses around 32 watts at 120V. We recommend the use of a UPS (uninterruptible power supply).
Initial Boot-up
When PDM II is first powered up, the Bypass button will flash, and the unit will be in Bypass mode. After about 10 seconds, the LCD will display a welcome screen:
This is followed by a status screen.
Though the unit will have booted into Bypass mode by default, it can be changed to boot into Real-Time or Building mode in the web GUI by navigating to the Control menu on the Configuration page. If the unit has been set to boot in real-time or building mode and there is audio present in the selected input, the input level meters will show activity.
Pressing the Bypass button brings up the Ready screen. PDM II has no delay at this point, which makes the transition from Bypass mode seamless.
Pressing the Build button begins building a delay, and the length of the delay will increase as the buffer builds.
Setting IP Addresses
PDM II has two network interface controllers with rear-panel RJ45 Ethernet ports labeled "Primary" and "Secondary".
The Primary port is always active and has DHCP enabled by default. The Secondary port can be enabled or disabled as needed. Only one port at a time can support DHCP, DNS, and a specific Gateway.
Note: To get things up and running quickly, these instructions cover basic setup using the Primary port. For additional and more advanced configurations (including the use of AoIP) please consult the "Network Menu" section of the user manual.
Begin by connecting the Primary port to a network with a DHCP server so that it automatically receives an IP address.
Press the green checkmark button to enter the menu system.
Press the up/down arrow buttons until the arrow points to "Information", then press the green checkmark or right arrow button to enter the Information menu.
Press the right arrow until the "Pri. IP Addr" information is displayed and verify that the unit has an IP address.
If you prefer to begin by using a static IP address instead:
Press the green checkmark button to enter the menu system.
Press the down arrow button until the arrow points to "Network", then press the green checkmark or right arrow button to enter the Network menu.
Press the up/down arrow buttons to navigate to "Pri. DHCP", then press the green checkmark or right arrow button to enter the menu.
Press the up/down arrows to disable DHCP, then press the green checkmark button to return to the previous screen.
Press the up/down arrow to navigate to the "Pri. IP Addr" screen, then press the green checkmark or right arrow button to enter the menu.
Press the up/down arrows to change the value of the first octet of the desired IP address and the left/right arrows to move between octets.
When finished, press the green checkmark to return to the previous screen, then set the Primary Subnet and, if desired, the Primary Gateway in the same manner.
Press the red X button until you see the "Configuration has Changed - Save?" screen; press the green checkmark to accept the changes or the red X to discard them.
Physical I/O Connections
If you are using analog or AES3 I/O, make the physical connections to the rear panel as appropriate for your installation.
For all input types - analog, AES3, AES67, and Livewire - please refer to the "Audio Menu" section of the user manual for detailed information on how to select the audio input source and make adjustments to settings unique to each I/O type.
Note: If you are planning to use both Ethernet ports - one for AoIP and one for remote access from a computer outside of your AoIP network - please refer to the "Network Menu" section of the user manual.
Connecting to the Web-Based User Interface
PDM II's remote user interface uses HTML5 and can be accessed from any computer on the same network using a web browser.
Note: PDM II ships with no default password. You must set a password in order to access the unit remotely. The password can be viewed or changed from the web UI's default page, or from the front panel in the System > Password menu. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Launch your preferred web browser on any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer.
Enter "http://xxx.xx.x.x" where the "x's" are the IP address of the PDM II.
If you haven't yet set a password, you will be prompted to enter the password twice; do so, and then press "Submit".
You will then be prompted to enter a Name and Password. The user name is "pdmweb"; the password is what you just set (or what you set via the front panel).
