# Rack Mounting a Single Telos Alliance xNode

### Scope

This document refers to all versions of Telos Alliance xNodes.

All xNodes come standard with a rack mount kit. One unit can be mounted in a single rack space, or two can be mounted side by side.

### Mounting a single xNode

xNodes are shipped with one short rack ear and one long rack ear that look like this.

Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver secure a short rack ear to one side of the xNode using two M4 X 10MM flat head screws (provided). Secure the long ear to the opposing side.

> [!WARNING]
> For single-node mounting, the long and short brackets can be mounted on either side of the xNode for left or right-hand mounting.

When mounted, the brackets will look like this.

### The "L" Bracket

Each xNode also comes with an "L" Bracket.

This bracket is for [racking two xNodes together](/v1/docs/mounting-two-telos-alliance-xnodes-in-one-ru-space). If you're only mounting one node, save this bracket for possible future use.
