Replacing a broken paddle switch on an Infinity Panel

Scope

This document refers to the paddle switches which are used with Infinity rackmounted Master Panels and Desktop Stations.

The Switches

All Infinity panels now use the same toggle switches, part number 1453-00283 shown here:

Prior to January 2025, rack-mounted panels used a different type of switch, part number 1453-00230 shown here:

Removing a Switch

The current 1453-00283 switch can simply be pried out of the panel using your finger.

A small flat-headed screwdriver is required to remove the 1453-00230 switch. The process is illustrated here:

Be careful not to scratch the surface of the panel.

It should pop out with slight effort.

Installing a Switch

The current switch can simply be pressed into the panel with gentle force.

The older switch requires a little more effort. You will notice two pushable tabs on either side of the intercom display after removing a paddle switch.

With the new switch, push the non-tabbed side of the switch into the left side of the display first. Then gently push the right side into the panel, locking the new paddle switch in place.
