# Setting up and using Forza processing in Z/IP Stream X/2

## Scope

This document covers the installation and use of Forza processing in the Z/IPStream X/2 software. It assumes you have some knowledge of X/2

## Requirements

- Minimum X/2 version 1.24.07.04
- Z/IPStream X/2 base audio source license. A 9X/2 license will also work
- Z/IPStream X/2 Forza unlock license
- At least one sound card

> You will need to uninstall the version you have if it's already installed. Your settings and existing license keys will be maintained.

## Installation

### Axia Driver - If needed

> [!WARNING]
> This must be done FIRST. Installing X/2 installs a key for the Axia driver automatically, no separate key is needed.

If you need instructions to install the driver, please visit this document. When complete, come back here. The ONLY difference is that you will skip entering the license code and key. Leave those fields blank.

### Z/IPStream X/2 Software

1. If you have an older version of Z/IPStream installed, navigate to the **Windows Control Panel**, under **Programs and Features** select Z/IPSTream X/2 and uninstall it.
2. Reboot if asked.
3. Locate the MSI installer downloaded previously and run it to install this new version.
4. If you JUST installed the Axia IP driver, even though the Z/IPStream installer does not prompt you to do so, **YOU MUST REBOOT** one more time so the driver can pick up the new key that is entered by the installer.

## Configuration

### Add Licenses

1. Using your Web Browser, log in to the main configuration page
2. On the menu across the top, click **Licensing**

3. Using the ADD button, add any licenses you were provided. One audio and one Forza license are required. Licenses will show **OK** if properly registered.

### Add an Audio Source

1. Click **Main** to return to the main menu
2. Click **Audio Sources**
3. From the Add audio source drop-down, select Local audio card (WAVE)

4. Assign a **friendly name**, choose a **sample rate**, and select a **source device**. In my example, I am using Livewire IN 01.

5. Click **Save**

### Add a processing instance

There are lots of choices here. We are going to pick a processing instance and output it to the local sound card so you can listen to the audio.

1. From the main control panel, click the **+NEW** button
2. Select **+Audio processing** (feel free to select other options here as appropriate) and fill out the information.
  1. Assign a **Name:**
  2. Select your **Audio source:**
  3. From the **Processing** drop-down, select Forza
  4. From the **Processing preset** drop-down, select Default
  5. Select an **Output device**. (in this example, I am using Livewire Out 1)
  6. Leave both the seconds and sample **Sync buffer** settings at their defaults of 1 and 33. These very seldom, if ever, need to be changed.

  7. Click **Save**
3. On the main Control Panel, click the start button (it looks like a play button) on your new instance.

### Adjust your Forza processing

Once you have started your processing instance, you'll make changes to your Forza processing by clicking the Pencil to the right of the Preset listing.

A new tab will open in your browser, where you can select and edit presets (called Soundscapes) and other settings.
