# Telos VSet - Setting IP Address

## Scope

This article discusses how to set the IP address on your Telos VSet phone controller.

## Description

The IP address of the VSet can only be changed from the front panel menu following the instructions below. There is more about this in the product manual and in the quickstart guides that ship with the product, so we'll cover it shortly here:

1. Press the **Menu** button
2. Find the **Setup** menu item (you may need to scroll down)
3. Press and Hold the numbered line key next to **Setup** for five seconds and release
4. To set the VSet's IP address and Subnet Mask, select the appropriate row with the numbered line keys and enter the address using the number pad. The star (*) key is dot (.) and the pound (#) key is backspace.
5. Press **GO** to save changes.
6. Press **Menu** to exit

> [!CAUTION]
> **Note** that step 3 has you pressing and holding a line key for five seconds and releasing. If you just press the line button without holding it down first, you will be entering the Setup menu in "read only" mode and you won't be able to make any changes.
