What's New
Support for Up to 24 GPIO Switch Inputs
Previous versions of iProFiler supported up to 8 GPIO switch inputs for
controlling recording. Starting with v2.6.1, this limit has been raised to 24
inputs, giving you far greater flexibility when working with larger GPIO hardware
configurations.
What this means for you
- Archives can now be triggered by any of up to 24 switch inputs, depending on your
hardware. - The Skim Switches section on the Record tab of the Archive Options dialog
still shows 8 switches at a time. Use the new [>>] button in the upper-right
corner of that group to step through the three banks of switches:- Bank 1 — Inputs 1–8
- Bank 2 — Inputs 9–16
- Bank 3 — Inputs 17–24
- Select the desired inputs in any bank (or across multiple banks) as you normally
would. Your selections are remembered across all three banks.
Compatibility
- Existing archives configured with 8 or fewer switch inputs will continue to work
without any changes. - This feature requires GPIO hardware that supports more than 8 inputs. If your
hardware provides 8 or fewer inputs, the extra banks will simply appear disabled.
Obtaining the Update files
Download the 2.6.2 update zip file from here and extract it to a location on your computer
The update is not an installer. The zip file contains two files that you replace manually.
The zip file contains three files
- UPDATE-v2.6.x.md (these instructions in markdown format)
- ProFilerServer.exe (new iProFiler server executable)
- ProFilerGPIO.dll (GPIO library file)
Installing the Update
Note that this is NOT an installer. This document assumes you already have a previous version of iProFiler installed and running.
The update consists of two files: ProFilerServer.exe and ProfilerGPIO.dll. Please follow these steps to update your iProFiler installation:
- Stop the
ProFilerServerapplication if already running. - Locate the installation directory for the iProFiler application.
Generally installed here C:\Program Files (x86)\iProFiler Server on 64-bit Windows
- Create backup copies of
ProFilerServer.exeandProFilerGPIO.dllthat already exist in that folder. The backup copies will allow you to revert to a previous version if the update does not work as expected. - Replace the existing
ProFilerServer.exeandProFilerGPIO.dllwith the versions included with this update. - Restart
ProFilerServer.exe. The version string in the title bar should show v2.6.2 or later. - Verify that your configuration is still okay, especially regarding skim switch selection.
- Start the archive recording.
