# Using GPO on Infinity Panels

## How to add a Password for GPIO Use

## Cause

A new feature has been added to the Panels in the Infinity product line to add security for the LWRP protocol used within the panels.

## Fix

You can add a test file with the correct syntax for a global password network or an array of panel that have individual passwords set on each panel.

### 1. Global Password Used

- An asterisk can be used, "*" to state "ALL" in a text file followed by a space and then your password for the panels.

### 2. Individual Passwords of Panels

- In this example, an asterisk is not appropriate. Instead we will type out each network address of the panels along with the respective passwords for each panel.

```
192.168.1.1 password0
192.168.1.2 password1
192.168.1.3 password2
```

### 3. Adding the Password to the Panel

- Now that you have a text file with the correct syntax. You can add this notepad to the appropriate and/or All panels that require the GPO access for use.
- To do so, navigate to the panel UI to sign in. Choose the Maintainence Tab and click Load Password button.
- Load the text file, into the panel.
- Try the GPIO test once more.

### 3. Setting up GPIO in Dashboard

All of the configuration for GPIO is done using Dashboard. The set up is similar for both GPI and GPO. Here we will assign a GPO to a panel, but the process is the same for GPI

- In the bottom left quadrant of Dashboard, select GPO ![GPO1.png](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/GPO1.png)
- Dashboard will now show the available places to assign a GPO on the bottom left quadrant, as well as the available GPO pins in the top right quadrant. You probably noticed that when editing the GPIO configuration, that each key now suddenly has 2 configuration slots: a top one and a bottom one. This represents the Listen (top) and Talk (bottom) functions of that particular key. In our above example, we configured our GPO so that when Key 1 is in Talk mode, our GPO will go low.
