Why is a call answered when I take a call that is already on hold?

Scope

This document explains Ringing Line Preference in a VSet6 or VSet12.

The Issue

A ringing line is picked up when a producer or board operator tries to make a call on an unoccupied phone line or answer a call that is already on hold.

The Reason and Fix

Ringing Line Preference is enabled and needs to be disabled following these steps on the VSet:

  • Select the Menu button

  • Select the User Preference button

  • Select the 3 button to toggle Ringing Line Preference mode to "Disabled"
