The confusion is that it looks like the microphone is muted. It's NOT. This is a picture of the label we are referring to. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/b68413b4-efca-4bdd-a2d6-4d9a4ba4945e-image.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T11%3A27%3A32Z&se=2026-11-04T12%3A27%3A32Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ycq3vQuYzTFT8TWCw3FHpQEEmJFiv7acV%2F8EdE8z5CM%3D) Note that the label says MUTE. This indicates that if you press the SOFT key, it will mute the microphone. > [!WARNING] > The SOFT key has many functions depending on the source type assigned to the fader. It could say NEXT for a Computer Player. It could say DROP or HOLD for a Phone source, etc. This is only for the Operator microphone type. Other Microphone types do not offer this MUTE soft key. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/9cf9639e-6ff4-40ab-8cb3-56c482ae5fa6-image.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T11%3A27%3A32Z&se=2026-11-04T12%3A27%3A32Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ycq3vQuYzTFT8TWCw3FHpQEEmJFiv7acV%2F8EdE8z5CM%3D) Note that when pressing the MUTE button, a message is displayed under the source name that says [MUTED] as shown in this picture. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/57e3cd80-d493-453c-9672-ad1b043dadc3/Images/Documentation/04e47ed3-75f4-45aa-b2ce-2555d881df36-image.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T11%3A27%3A32Z&se=2026-11-04T12%3A27%3A32Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ycq3vQuYzTFT8TWCw3FHpQEEmJFiv7acV%2F8EdE8z5CM%3D) > [!WARNING] > The mute button label can not be removed or changed.
