xNode2 sources not displayed properly in iProbe

Scope

This document covers an issue that may cause xNode2 sources to display incorrectly in iProbe.  This is specific to xNode2 and iProbe. No other topics are covered here.

Description

Sources from an xNode2 may display incorrectly in iProbe and look like this.

Note that the first source (11401 AV Mix) is correct, but the others are not

This happens if the Payload Type (pt=)is something OTHER than 96.  Here you can see pt=97

Looking at it in an xNode2, we can see that it is, in fact, 97 for senders 2 through 8

Changing the Payload Type

Prior to xNode2, the Payload Type in xNode was not (easily) settable.  But with more interoperable AoIP standards (Like AES67 and SMPTE2110-30), more configurability is needed for compatibility. The Payload type of 97 is “confusing” to iProbe, as it expects a Payload Type of 96.

To change the Payload Type

  1. In the sources list, click the AES67 option in the AoIP Type column

Note that when you do this, other columns like Bps, Payload Type, Address, Port, and pTime are editable.

  1. From the Payload Type dropdown list, pick 96

  2. Change the AoIP Type back to Livewire.

Note the other fields are no longer editable but the PaylodType is now 96

  1. Repeat these steps for other sources on this xNode2

  2. Click Save

Check iProbe

Once you refresh the device in iProbe, you will see that the Sources now display normally.
