Setup Page

Clicking on the “Setup” tab will launch the setup-configuration page as shown below. Dashboard provides a centralized configuration system allowing all Panels to be setup from one convenient location.

IP Configuration - Primary Network

Provides IP address configuration. Normally this would be set using the INF-MXP-20 front Panel software as the browser needs an IP address to be entered into the address bar. The BP-2 is fitted with a primary network only.

IP Selection

Choose between Manual and DHCP for IP address assignment. Many broadcasters will use manual configuration to maintain maximum control.

Address

This is the IP address of the INF-BP-2 Panel as entered in the front Panel software. Changing this will require the new address to be entered into the browser address bar, otherwise the INF-BP-2 may appear unresponsive, it will still be working but will not recognize the IP address from the browser.

Mask

Used to set the IP address mask.

Gateway

IP address of the Gateway router.

IGMP Version

The IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) is a control protocol used to establish multicast group membership on IPV4 networks. Set the IGMP version to 2 or 3. “Auto” lets the Infinity panel decide which is the best version of IGMP to use.

Microphone

INF-BP-2 provides two different microphone options. This section allows the selection of the microphone input with gain and limiter control.

Active Mic Selection

Choose between Headset and Internal microphone input. There is also a Disabled option to switch the microphone off completely.

Headset Detection

When switched on it will automatically configure the headset for audio input. When switched off, the other microphone selections will be used.

Input Compressor

Switch the compressor limit from heavy to light or medium and quiet voice depending on the environmental conditions. There is an option to switch the compressor off.

Active Selection

Switches between speaker and headset mode and provides kill-safe for INF-BP-2 microphones.

Speaker Selection

Select the listen audio to output on either the internal loudspeaker or connected headset.

Mic Kill-Safe

When the boxes are checked, the corresponding microphone is set into Kill-Safe mode for Partyline operation.

Front Panel

To help users gain the best possible experience from the INF-BP-2, additional front Panel display brightness controls are provided to improve operational use.

Brightness

This is an arbitrary scale from 0 to 10 and is used to adjust the brightness of the menu display during normal operation. Level 0 is the darkest and level 10 is the brightest. The backlights will stay at the selected level until the Display Timeout is activated.

Dim Level

This is an arbitrary scale from 0 to 10 and is used to adjust the brightness of the contact keys when the Display Timeout has been activated. Operating any of the front Panel switches or volume controls will restore the brightness levels to those set in the Brightness option.

Display Timeout

The time selected in this option sets the time the brightness levels of the menu. Time values between 0 and 15 minutes are available. Time value 0 minutes permanently enables the dim-level of brightness and switching to normal brightness does not occur.

Global Talk Key Action

Switch the global talk key action between latch and non-latch. When latch is selected, each Talk button requires a push to talk, and then push to cancel. When in non-latch mode, the button is pushed to talk and releasing the button will cancel the call.

VoIP Mode

Selecting “On (VoIP/Non AoIP) will turn off all the AoIP capability and activate the complimentary Link License. This auto-assigns Links 1 to 8 to the panel talk keys 1 to 8. The panel can then connect directly to an internet-facing network via their primary NIC ports, enabling a simple and cost-effective way to remote a device when working away from HQ.

Headset

Fine control of the attached headset is available from this configuration option.

Headset Mic Gain

Change the microphone gain of the headset from 19dB to 70dB

Headset Mode

Switch between mono and stereo.

Headphone Limiter

Five modes of headset microphone compression are provided: Heavy Limit, Medium Limit, Light Limit, Medium Voice, and Quiet Voice. Selecting “Off” will disable the microphone compressor.

Sidetone

Adjust the sidetone between off and 10. This is an arbitrary scale where “off” is no sidetone and “10” is maximum sidetone.

Audio Configuration

Advanced audio processing in the INF-BP-2 improves the user experience by providing noise cancellation and speaker audio limiting, it also provides options specific to Beltpack operation.

Ch1 and Ch2

Use the drop-down menu to select between streams available to the two channels.

Program Input Enable

A background program audio stream can be sent to the INF-BP-2, this is an override to enable or disable the program as required.

Program Duck

This will dip the headphone level by a preset amount when one of the Talk buttons is pressed. Level is between 0dB and 20dB.

Noise Cancellation

Enable by switching “on” and disable by switching “off”.

Speaker Compressor Limit

Front loudspeaker compressor. To disable, select “off”. To enable it, switch between “heavy limit” and “medium voice” depending on the environmental conditions.

Livewire+/AES67

Telos Infinity provides seamless connectivity to other Livewire+™ AES67 and AES67 devices. This configuration is required to set up the channel numbers that map to the multicast streams along with the user labels. See chapter “Dashboard Software” for more detail.

Intercom Mic LW Channel Number

This is the Livewire+™ AES67 channel associated with the multicast stream emanating from the microphone. Each Livewire+™ AES67 channel number must be unique across the whole installation.

Intercom Mic LW Channel Label

This is the Livewire+™ AES67 user label associated with the microphone multicast stream. It will appear in the Dashboard software as an input. Each Livewire+™ AES67 channel number must be unique across the whole installation.

Spkr/HS LW Output Channel Number

This is the Livewire+™ AES67 channel associated with the multicast stream created by the audio feed being sent to the INF-BP-2 headset speakers and internal loudspeaker.

Spkr/HS LW Output Channel Label

This is the Livewire+™ AES67 user label associated with the headset speakers and internal Panel loudspeaker multicast stream.

RTP Payload Type

This allows the RTP payload type to be selected for Livewire+™ AES67. The default is “96” and the range is from “96” to “127”.

PTP

Precision Time Protocol, otherwise known as IEEE-1588-v2, is the timing system used to synchronize clock samples between audio inputs and outputs. Livewire+™ AES67 and AES67 both require a PTP source to synchronize all the sample clocks of connected devices together. Without it, individual device sample clocks will free run and become asynchronous resulting in clicks on the audio outputs.

Slave Only

When “off” is selected, the PTP software engine in the INF-BP-2 is a Master PTP interface that acts as a clock source. When “on” is selected, the PTP software engine in the INF-BP-2 is a Slave PTP interface and listens for the master clock.

Domain Number

This is the source of the PTP clock as defined in IEEE-1588. Domain numbers 0 to 127 are defined representing multicast addresses 224.0.1.129 to 224.0.1.255. Using the Best Master Clock algorithm, multiple source clocks can be made available with the most accurate being nominated to Master clock status, when realizing this, the other clocks switch to slave mode.

Delay Mechanism

E2E is used in networks where Ethernet switches cannot be guaranteed to be PTP compatible. P2P is used when all Ethernet switches are PTP compatible. To automatically detect and switch between E2E and P2P, select “Auto”.

Clock Priority 1 and Clock Priority 2

These are used together to help the Best Master Clock algorithm decide on which connected PTP source should be declared master. Only used when “Slave Only” is set to “Off”.

Clock Sync Interval

Used by the INF-BP-2 Master clock to suggest to other devices that it might be the most accurate clock on the network and should be considered using the Best Master Clock algorithm. If the other Master clocks on the network do consider that this clock is more accurate, they acknowledge and indicate this using the best master clock algorithm. Only used when “Slave Only” is set to “Off”. The sync interval can be changed from the pull-down box by selecting the values between 1/16second to 2seconds.

Clock Announce Interval

Used by the Master clock to issue time updates. Only used when “Slave Only” is set to “Off”. The announce interval can be changed from the pull-down box by selecting the values between 1second and 16seconds.

Beltpacks can now be configured with the Link VoIP OPUS codecs to provide VoIP connectivity across the internet. The Infinity Link section provides a full description of Link along with use-case examples.

Remote

Selecting remote from the home screen provides a live GUI display of the front panel operation. Any controls operated from the panel are reflected in this display. Using the mouse pointer, any of the user controls can be operated from the GUI and their status is reflected on the user panel. For example, if the user rotates the “Vol” control on the panel, the volume display will change on the GUI. If a user selects the first “push to talk” button, the button will illuminate red on both the GUI and the panel. Also, the microphone will be live.
