INF-MP-16 Setup
From the Dashboard software, click on “Producer” in the Devices area and the Producer keys will appear in the window below along with the keys and GPIO assignments (where fitted).
Each key has a number in it relating to the key number on the Panel. If they are not blank, then click on the key and then click on the “Delete” button on the right to remove it. Do this for all the devices until the keys are blank.
When highlighting a key, clicking on “Edit” will allow the key label to be edited and the foreground and background colors to be changed. Also, the key-mode can be changed.
Key Mode
Disabled
The key functionality is disabled, the user can neither listen nor talk.
Talk + Auto Listen
Push the key down to talk and the listen function will follow the key-type configuration as defined in the setup-menu. If ‘Listen’ is set to latching, then the upper key position will remain in the listen position until the user deselects it manually.
Force Listener
The receiving user will hear the caller, even if they have talk-only se
lected. A ‘listener’ cannot deselect listen when targeted by a Force Listen equipped ‘talker’.
Talk Only
The key can only be used to talk, and the user cannot listen.
Listen Only
The user can only listen and cannot talk on the key.
Key Latching Enable/Disable
When a key on a Panel or Beltpack is selected, the user can choose whether the key is able to latch in either Talk or Listen positions.
Assigning Keys
To assign the Director to key-1 on the Producer Panel, click on Producer in the Devices window in Dashboard and this will highlight the Producer key list below it.
Then drag the Director device icon (to the right of the Producer icon), down to key-1 on the Producer Panel. The Director label should then appear on the Dashboard Producer key and at the same time, key-1 on the Producer Panel will display the Director label.
To complete the connection, the opposite procedure must be completed with the Director Panel and Producer device. That is, click on the Director icon under devices, make sure the Director keys are highlighted below, then drag the Producer icon under devices down to key-1 of the Director Panel. The key on Dashboard and on the Director Panel will be updated with the Director label.
Pushing the Director key (key-1) on the Producers Panel will make a call to the Producer. Key-1 on the Directors Panel will display red if the connection is successful.
The Directors Panel key-1 will flash green for three seconds and if the connection is successful will then stay green. The “Last Call” contact key on the Directors Panel will show the Producer label.
If the Director calls the Producer, the opposite will occur.
Configuring keys on Panels and Beltpacks is just the simple task of highlighting and dragging devices to keys on corresponding Panel keys through Dashboard. But care must be taken to confirm that if two-way communications is required, the opposite key mapping is made. As in this example, the Director is mapped to the Producer, and then Producer is mapped to the Director.
The figures below illustrate this.
