How to start any program as administrator

Scope

This document applies to any application in the Windows 10 environment.

Application Properties

By default, even if the user logging on to a computer is an administrator, Windows does not allow applications these same privileges. Applications must explicitly be allowed to run with admin privileges.

1. Locate and right-click on the executable icon. (usually ends with .exe)

2. Choose Properties

3. Select the Compatibility tab

4. Check the box that says, "Run this program as an administrator"

   

5. Click Ok
