Description
Customers will often ask if the Telos stream offerings can report the number of current listeners to a stream.
The short answer is no.
The Z/IPStream products are intended to be a streaming "encoder" and not a "server." The Z/IPStream converts whatever audio and data source you supply into an encoded audio stream that is then sent to a replication server for delivery to your listeners. The process of "serving" a stream is one that can be quite CPU intensive and, in addition (if you have lots of listeners), requires a fair bit of internet bandwidth.
