Nielsen Watermark Encoding
Nielsen watermark encoding is an optional feature for AERO.100, 2000, 200, 2400 and AERO Enterprise. Nielsen encoding is enabled via software and requires a license key from Telos Alliance to enable it. A separate Nielsen license from Telos Alliance is required for each AERO instance that has outputs which need Nielsen watermarking.
The codes required to watermark the audio are available to the user directly from Nielsen. Telos Alliance can not provide the Nielsen watermark code or the Nielsen Check Digits that enable the watermarking. For AERO units that have multiple AMX instances, a separate Nielsen license is required for each AMX instance that has program outputs that require watermarking.
Nielsen encoding is done post audio processing and pre Dolby encoding.
The license and Nielsen codes can both be field installed.
The encoder supports various Nielsen watermarking modes, including:
N2 + N6
CBET
Note: Two codes from Nielsen are required to enable each Nielsen encoded program output from an AERO instance. One is the broadcaster’s program code. The second is called the Nielsen “check digits”. The check digits must be obtained by the broadcaster directly from Nielsen. Telos Alliance cannot provide these codes.
Verance Aspect Watermark Encoding
Verance Aspect watermark encoding is an optional software feature available for AERO.100, 2000, 200, 2400 and AERO Enterprise. Verance Aspect encoding is enabled via a Telos Alliance license key. The Verance license can embed the Verance Aspect watermark into any or all audio outputs of the AMX instance it is licensed to.
For AERO units that can have multiple AMX instances, a separate Verance Aspect license is required for each AMX instance that requires Verance encoding on any or all program output(s).
Verance encoding is done post audio processing and pre Dolby encoding.
The license and Nielsen codes can both be field installed.
Note: The Verance Aspect codes used for your station must be obtained from Verance directly. Telos Alliance does not provide these codes.
Dolby Digital Plus Transcoding
Dolby Digital Plus Encoding is optional software available for AERO.100, 2000, 200, 2400 and AERO Enterprise processors. This encoder can encode 2 x Dolby Digital Plus outputs for each AMX Instance. A separate Dolby Digital Plus encoder license is required for each AMX Instance.
Please be aware that Dolby Digital Plus Transcoder includes both Dolby Digital (aka AC-3) and Dolby Digital Plus encoders.
Dolby Digital Plus Stereo Encoder
Encode 2 x Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus on AERO processing outputs 1/2 and 7/8.
Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Encoder
Encode AERO processed outputs 1-6 as Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 bitstream
Encode AERO processed outputs 7/8 as Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus stereo bitstream
The Dolby Digital Plus encoder can also encode a Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus 2.0 bitstream on AERO output 1/2. A 5.1 transcoder can be purchased by a broadcaster that is currently broadcasting in stereo but wants to expand to 5.1 in the future.
