Below are the AERO processing latency values for various AERO processors. All of these values are for the AERO processors listed when running software version, 3.32.47.
The AERO .10 and 20 latency values are taken with the units running in low latency mode.
In all cases add +3ms to each audio pair that has SRC enabled on the input or output.
The abbreviation DM = downmix

Synchronizing Audio and Video
Synchronization between audio and video is achieved using the Video Delay and audio delay controls.
For example, if unprocessed PCM audio is embedded in SDI video along with processed audio, the PCM may be delayed match the latency of the processed audio. Or, processed PCM audio may be delayed by the amount of Dolby encoding latency so Dolby encoded audio and PCM audio is in-sync.
The output delay for each audio pair is found here: Output > Output Delay
This control is found in each AMX Instance.
A Low Latency audio processing mode is available by request.
Low Latency mode does not allow for any Dolby, Nielsen, or Verance options.
Processing latency with UPMAX upmixing disabled is 45 ms in Low Latency mode.
Enabling UPMAX upmixing adds 16 ms.
When UPMAX is enabled the added latency is constant regardless of whether the upmixer is actively upmixing a 2.0 source or passing through a 5.1 source.
Disabling SRC any AES input or output decreases the latency on that pair by 1.5 ms.
