Installing Altus version 2.2.0 for Altus SE

Prev Next

Scope

This document applies only to Altus SE (from the Studio Essentials Line), which is delivered to you as a microcomputer and differs from Altus, which may be installed in a Docker container server. Here is an image of Altus SE.  If your unit does not look like this, this update does not apply to you.

Installing the update

Updates are installed using the System Management Menu, located at the same IP address as your Atus, but using an alternate port, 8085. We’ll cover the basics here.

If you have ever installed updates for Pathfinder Core Pro, this process will be very familar to you.

  1. Check the Status page of Altus SE and confirm you are not already running version 2.2.0 (new units should ship with this version).  If your version shows 2.2.0 as shown here, you do NOT need to perform this update

  2. Click here to download platform update version 1.0.1 and save it to a location on your computer. (This platform update includes Altus version 2.2.0)

  3. Access the System Management Menu by navigating to the same IP as Altus SE, but use the alternate port 8085, as in http://192.168.2.100:8085 (follow the System Management guide linked above)

It is highly recommended that you make a backup by following the System Management Menu guide.  Backups should not be stored on Altus SE, but rather copied and stored in a location on your computer.  A “version upgrade” backup is taken automatically, but a backup should be taken before beginning.

  4. In the System Management Menu, click  Upload Update

  5. From the Upload Update Package Page

    1. Click the Browse Button and locate the file downloaded in Step 2, and select it.

    2. Verify that the file name is correct and click the Begin button that appears.

  6. Allow the Updating page to finish, and report  “Updating Complete”

    CAUTION

Activating the new Bank requires Altus to reboot which will stop all audio.

  7. Navigate to the Bank Control menu.  The current Bank is indicated by the * (asterisk) and the Bank 0 button in our example.

  8. Click the button for the active bank (Bank 0 in our example)

  9. Then click the Bank 1 button to select it as the bank to use after reboot (yours may be Bank 0)

The indicator switches to Bank 1, and a Reboot button appears

  10. Click the Reboot button to restart into the new Bank.

Verify the update

Return to the main Status page of Altus (not he one on the management port) and verify your version now shows Version: altus_2.2.0.
