A minimum of one preset must be configured. A maximum of ten presets is supported in the MPEG-H system.

Creating a Preset

To create a preset, press the “+” in the upper right corner of the Presets window. A new preset window will be created.

Naming a Preset

Click on the Name field for the Preset, enter the name, then press “Enter” to save.

The Preset name will be carried in the metadata all the way through the broadcast chain to the end viewer.

Adding and Removing Elements

Presets contain elements such as Input Groups, Switch Groups, and Objects.

To add an element to a Preset, press the “+” in the bottom left corner of the Preset window, select the element to be added from the list, then press “Enter” to make the selection.

To remove an element from a Preset, select the element to be removed, then press the “-“ button located in the bottom left corner of the preset window.

Gain

Individual Gain controls are provided for each audio element contained in a preset to allow for custom presentations. For example, hearing-impaired viewers who struggle to hear the dialog over background audio can benefit from an increase in gain in the dialog channels and/or a reduction in gain in background audio channels.

Loudness Target

This value represents the desired LKFS/LUFS loudness target for the preset.

Loudness Anchor

The Anchor flag identifies the "anchor element" for the preset when using anchor-based loudness measurements as recommended in ATSC A/85.

Interactivity Controls

Individual Interactivity Controls may be enabled or disabled in each Preset. The upper and lower limits for the Interactivity Controls are defined in the Interactivity Controls section.
