The Role of a Signaling Server
Spotlight is a signaling server. Signaling servers play an essential role in establishing and managing WebRTC connections between media servers and clients. It is the underlying technology that enables secure, real-time, audio, video and data between web browsers and media servers. These include Telos Alliance WebRTC enabled products like Axia® Altus and Altus SE™ virtual consoles and the Telos Infinity® VIP Virtual Intercom Platform.
In tandem with a customer-provided TURN server ,or subscription to a TURN service provider like Xirsys, Spotlight represents an easy-to-deploy, on premise, Telos Alliance-managed, signaling server.
Pairing Spotlight with Altus, Altus SE and Infinity VIP
Spotlight provides a deployment option that enable the current suite of included WebRTC connectivity in VIP. It also enables the optional WebRTC monitoring and contribution licenses for Altus and Altus SE
