Spotlight Saas Introduction

The Role of a Signaling Server

Signaling servers play an essential role in establishing and managing peer-to-peer connections in WebRTC applications, the technology that enables real-time audio to be shared between web browsers and audio devices. These include our Axia® Altus and Altus SE™ virtual consoles and the Telos Infinity® VIP Virtual Intercom Platform.

In tandem with a customer-provided Xirsys subscription, Spotlight SaaS represents an easy-to-deploy, cloud-based, Telos Alliance-managed alternative to locally hosted signaling servers. It helps overcome maintenance and security concerns and technical barriers that sometimes limit the adoption of virtualized products.

Pairing Spotlight SaaS with Altus and Altus SE

For Altus, Spotlight SaaS provides a second deployment option to enable the current suite of optional WebRTC monitoring and contribution licenses.

When paired with the recently launched Altus SE, the latest product in our new Studio Essentials™ series, Spotlight SaaS provides a WebRTC option that is as easy to set up and deploy as Altus SE itself.
