Installing Omnia XII

To get started quickly with your Omnia XII, make back-panel audio and network connections, and then connect power.

To make audio connections:

Connect the audio inputs appropriate for your installation.
The Omnia XII accepts balanced professional line-level analog audio or AES/EBU digital audio.
- For analog audio: In the Analog I/O section, connect XLR audio cables to the Left In and Right In jacks or an RJ45 cable to the RJ45 In jack.
  The RJ45 In jack mirrors the Left In and Right In XLR jacks and provides the same analog input. Use either the XLR or RJ45 connection.
- For AES/EBU audio: Connect standard XLR cables or RJ45 cables to the desired input connector in the AES/EBU I/O section. Inputs 1 and 2 are available on both XLR and RJ45 connectors. Input 3 is available on RJ45 only.
Connect the composite MPX output to your FM exciter.
- BNC connection: Use either the 1 Out or 2 Out stereo BNC connector in the Composite I/O section.

To connect the Omnia XII to your Ethernet network (for remote control):

Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to a configured Ethernet switch and the other end to the NET 2 or Net 3 port in the Network section of the back panel.
Note: While all three back-panel network ports support remote control, you need to keep NET 1 available if you intend to use Audio over IP (AoIP). Only the first network port supports AoIP.
The Omnia XII supports TCP/IP based remote control of your Omnia XII.
This connection gives you the ability to use the Omnia XII web UI to remotely set audio routing and change network settings as needed. It also provides access to extended processing and control settings not present on the front panel LCD.

To power on Omnia XII:

Perform one of these steps:
- In the USA or Canada, plug one of the provided IEC type AC power cords into the PSU1 connector on the unit back panel and then into a grounded AC outlet.
- Outside of the USA, use the appropriate power cord that complies with local electrical regulations to provide power via the PSU1 connector and a grounded AC outlet.

Note: There is no power switch.
(Optional, for facilities with redundant power sources): Provide secondary power to the unit via the other PSU connector.

When the Omnia XII is first powered on, the fans turn on and the front panel touchscreen displays text-based boot status messages followed by some graphics test screens and then the home screen. This home screen metering will appear frozen for a while as the I/O board finishes booting up. This is normal. This process may take up to one minute.

When boot up completes, a green light appears around the knob, the respective PSU (power supply) indicator lights blue, and the STAT (status) indicator lights green. The front panel touchscreen defaults to its Home screen, which includes:

Omnia XII logo (for access to touchscreen menus)
Touchscreen header that includes bar-graph meters, the Current Preset, and a headphone level control
Meters: Wideband, St. Enhancer (stereo enhancer), Multi AGC (five-band), Multi Compressor (five-band),
Multi Limiter (six-band), Bass Clipper, Clipper, Final Limiter (L/R), and Sensus
