Scope
This document refers specifically to the Quasar MTS or Quasar RPS modules only.
Description
The Quasar MTS and RPS modules have an account named “user” that defaults to no password, which is used for configuration purposes. Should you change this password from the default of blank and forget what it is, this procedure will cover the steps to change it.
Recovering a lost user password
This procedure assumes the admin account has not also had its password changed.
Using a Web Browser, log in to the Quasar web page where you need to change the password.
Log in with the name “admin” with no password.
Navigate to the Network Setup page
In that page's Web Access Password section, set a new user password, then click Change. You can leave it blank and click the Change button to return it to blank.
Note that you CAN also change the password for the admin user; however, if you also forget this password there is no way to recover without sending your module to the factory to be re-imaged as if it were new. Reflahsing as new can not be done in the field and will also wipe your configuration. Choose carefully if you change the admin account.
