The System Configuration page provides various menus for managing your system and its software. During your initial setup, you may have configured your network settings and set the system time from this page. Other System Configuration page menus are useful after the unit has been in operation, when needed. They let you:
View system information
Back up system settings and software
Load or change software banks
Manage system logs
Change the log in password
Connect to the Telos Alliance support link
Update software
Reboot the system
Reset factory default settings
All of these workflows use the sidebar menus in the System Configuration page. For instructions on accessing the System Configuration page, see Setting up Omnia XII System Software.
Viewing System Information
When the System Configuration page is accessed, via the web UI or a direct IP address, the initial view (landing page) displays system information. This includes version information (such as the currently-active firmware bank and bank software version) and system status information (such as the current CPU usage, RAM usage, and available disk space). The CPU and RAM usage graphs update automatically every two seconds
When the System Configuration page is not displaying the landing page, you can return to the landing page by clicking the System menu in the sidebar.
For instructions on accessing the System Configuration page, see Setting up Omnia XII System Software.
Backing up System Settings and Software
The Backup/Restore page presents a list of all backups in the system. If this is the first time using this page, there mat not be any backups present in the system.
Backup files have a .tgz extension.
Taking a New Backup
When you create a new backup, it will include all configuration files needed to return your system to its current state.
If logs are included, the backup will also include all system and application logs currently on the system. The log information can be very useful to Telos Alliance support if they are trying to assist in troubleshooting an issue, and it is likely they will ask you to take a backup, including log files and send it to them.
If you intend to restore the backup on a different Omnia XII, you may not wish to include IP addresses so the restore process does not overwrite the IP addresses of the other unit.
Important!: After taking a new backup, it is highly recommended that you click on the link to the backup file and download it to your local computer to store it in a safe location. Backups that live on Omnia XII are not true backups because if the system were to fail, both the system and the backups could be lost. Downloading a backup to an external system will also allow you to send the backup to support if necessary.
Backups are stored in the software bank. When you move to a new software bank, you will not be able to directly access the backups from the previous bank. However, if the backup is saved to your local computer, you can easily upload it back into a new bank if desired.
To take a new backup:
Click Backup/Restore in the System Configuration page sidebar.
The Backup/Restore page displays.

Backup/Restore page

Click the name of the backup in the System Backup column.
The backup is copied to your the location for downloads on your computer.

You can upload a backup from your local computer (or an external drive) into the Omnia XII. This lets you restore your configuration to a new system, a factory default system, or a system that has had the desired backup removed from the system
To upload a backup:
Click Backup/Restore in the System Configuration page sidebar.
The Backup/Restore page displays.
Click the plus (+) icon.
The Create Backup dialog displays.
Click Choose File.
Navigate to the backup file, select it, and then click OK.
Click Upload.
After the upload is complete, the backup will be available in the Backup/Restore list.
Removing a Backup
Since there is limited space on the storage medium it is recommended to keep only a few backups on the system at a time. You can manage the number of backups by removing backups that are no longer needed.
To remove a backup:
Click Backup/Restore in the System Configuration page sidebar.
The Backup/Restore page displays.
Click the minus (-) icon located to the right of the backup you want to delete.
When prompted, confirm that you want to remove the backup.

True means yes. False means no.
Click Restore to restore the backup (or Cancel to exit the dialog without making any changes).
The system will reboot while initializing the new software.
Important!: Because the restore function typically happens quickly, keep in mind that the system will not be operational during the restore and reboot process.
Note: We have occasionally seen some browsers try to cache the state of this page even though we have requested that page state is not cached. If you reboot and the executing asterisk does not change, try refreshing the web page. Some browsers have an extra button you can hold down while refreshing to force the web page to refresh rather than rely on the cache; for example, with Google Chrome, hold Shift+CTRL while clicking the refresh icon.
Updating Software
Omnia XII stores software in banks. Updating the software involves uploading a new software package, assigning it to a bank, and then rebooting the unit to activate that bank.
Warning! Activating the updated bank requires a system reboot, which interrupts audio processing and output. Schedule updates during a maintenance window or other appropriate downtime.
Important! Before updating software, we recommend that you create a backup of system settings and software. Store backup files on a computer or network location rather than on the Omnia XII. See Backing up Your System and Software.
Prerequisite:
Software update package (provided by your dealer or Telos Alliance)
The file ends with upd and no extension.
To update Omnia XII software (from the System Configuration page):
Click Upload Update in the System Configuration page sidebar.

From the Upload Update Package panel, perform these steps:
Click Browse, select the update package file, and then click Upload.
Verify that the file is correct. If not, click Change and choose a different file; or select another System Configuration page menu to cancel the selection.
When ready to start the update, click Begin.

When prompted to copy the current configuration to the new bank, select Yes, and then click Apply. (To cancel the selection, click your browser control (usually an arrow) to return to the previous page.)

After clicking Apply, the selected bank becomes the active boot bank and a Reboot button appears.
Click the Reboot button to restart with the new Bank.
Important! The first reboot after an update can take a little longer than a normal reboot. This is because part of the update process happens during that next boot. All subsequent reboots will be shorter.
