Quasar Software Update Version 3.2.0 Release Notes & Update Instructions

Note – This update is for Quasar Surfaces and Quasar Engine RPS boards only. No Engine software is included with this update. Some features in this update require Engine software v3.1.2-3 or later (previously released). Click here for a Quasar System version compatiblity Matrix

Most significant features of this release:

    • Quasar Soft: Added Auto-Scaling function,

    • Quasar Soft: Added new widgets for Channel SET and HOLD buttons.

    • Quasar Soft: Added Sliders widget to the Configuration page, with option to select Fader Type from a drop-down menu

    • Quasar Soft: Enabled the Call Controller Tab, with synchronization of Lines’ states

    • Quasar Soft: Added synchronization of the Left and Right Hybrids to the Call Controller Tab

    • Quasar Soft: Enabled the Intercom Control Tab

    • Quasar Soft: Enabled the Hot Keys tab

    • Quasar Soft: Added Master User Button Panels with drop-down for selecting: 8-Button+4 Banks, 12-Button, or 32-Button User Panels

    • Quasar Soft: Added Channel USER 1-2 and USER 3-4 buttons

    • Quasar Soft: Enabled the ON AIR lamp and synchronized its state with the corresponding MTS lamp

    • MTS GUI - Web UI: Added option to feed the Loudness Meter with different busses, and automatic PGM1/REC bus switching triggered by Record Mode

    • Network Setup: Added possibility to Whitelist a single device IP for accessing Quasar Soft HTML5 UI without username and password

Other Functional improvements:

    • System Setup: Changed color of SAVE & REBOOT to red, and RESET button to green, changed RESET button label to "UNDO CHANGES"

    • Automix Tab: Changed position of the Level Control button

    • Intercom Control Tab: Swapped position of PFL VOLUME and LW OUT GAIN controls.

Bug Fixes (since v3.1.0):

    • Console Control Logic: Improved logic sequence when loading Direct Outs. (In some cases the Direct Outs where not created because of a timing conflict) - RM #23962

    • Console Control Logic - Intercom Controller: Minor bugfixes, and Cleanup - RM #24059

    • Console Control Logic: state of the DYN Active indicator is not pushed correctly to the Fader modules

    • Quasar Soft: Some Locked Controls configured in Show Profile Channels, are not applied to the Quasar Soft Surface as well.

Updating Software on the MTS-MON Module, and the Engine RPS board

Quasar MTS-MON module and the Engine RPS board use different installers. Download the appropriate versions above.

  1. Connect a PC to your console network.

  2. Open the MTS-MON Web UI at the unit's base IP address (standard HTTP port 80).

  3. In the System menu, select Software.

  4. Click on “Choose File”, navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it

  5. The new version will load into the currently inactive software bank and overwrite its content, once you press the Upload Software button.

  6. The page will refresh once the upload is complete, showing the new version in the unused bank.

  7. Now select the new bank and press the “Switch to Selected Bank” button. WARNING: the console will reboot once you press the button.

  8. The system will take approx. 15 seconds to reboot, and at the end, the audio might be interrupted for about 1 second.
