Quasar version 3.1.0 System Files download and Update Instructions

Important Note: This is a system-wide software update that applies major improvements to all components of the Quasar console. BOTH the Surface and the Engine must be updated at the same time. The Firmware update for all modules could be applied before or after the Surface and Engine software updates.

  3. MPC-ACC and MF1-ACC Modules, software v.3.1.0 Field Update

  5. QUASAR ENGINE, software v.3.1.2 Field Update

  6. Firmware v4.3.0 Field Update for all Surface Modules

  7. Firmware v1.1.5.9 Field Update for all SmartKey Modules

Updating Software on the MTS-MON Module

  1. Connect a PC to your console network.

  2. Open the MTS-MON Web UI at the unit's base IP address (standard HTTP port 80).

  3. In the System menu, select Software.

  4. Click on “Choose File,” navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it.

  5. The new version will load into the currently inactive software bank and overwrite its content once you press the Upload Software button.

  6. The page will refresh once the upload is complete, showing the new version in the unused bank.

  7. Now select the new bank and press the “Switch to Selected Bank” button. WARNING: the console will reboot once you press the button

  8. The system will take approx. 15 seconds to reboot, and at the end, the audio might be interrupted for about 1 second.


Updating Software on the Engine RPS Module

  1. Connect a PC to your console network.

  2. Open the RPS Web UI at the unit's base IP address (standard HTTP port 80).

  3. In the System menu, select Software.

  4. Click on “Choose File,” navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it.

  5. The new version will load into the currently inactive software bank and overwrite its content once you press the Upload Software button.

  6. The page will refresh once the upload is complete, showing the new version in the unused bank.

  7. Now select the new bank and press the “Switch to Selected Bank” button. WARNING: The RPS Module will reboot once you press the button

  8. The system will take approx. 15 seconds to reboot, and at the end, the audio might be interrupted for about 1 second.

Updating Software on the XR-4FAD Module

  2. Open the XR-4FAD Web UI at the unit's base IP address (standard HTTP port 80).

  3. In the System menu, select Software.

  5. The new version will load into the currently inactive software bank and overwrite its content once you press the Upload Image button.

  6. The page will refresh once the upload is complete, showing the new version in the unused bank.

  7. Now select the new bank and press the “Switch to Selected Bank” button. WARNING: the module will reboot once you press the button.

  8. The system will take approx. 15 seconds to reboot, and no audio interruption will occur.


Updating Software on the MF1-ACC and MPC-ACC Modules

Updating MCU Firmware on the MTS-MON Module

Updating the MTS-MON Module to FW v4.3.0 is optional, not required, since it adds no new functionality or bug fixes to this module. You could skip this step or proceed as follows.

  1. You can perform this step before or after the v3.1.0 Software update has been installed

  2. Open the MTS Web UI at the following address: IP address/debug/mcu

  3. The MCU Operations page will appear.

  4. Click on “Choose File”, navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it. The correct MCU FW file type is .bin

  5. Once you press the Upload MCU Firmware button, the new version will load into the firmware bank and overwrite its content.

  6. The page will refresh once the upload completes, showing the “No file chosen” message.

  7. From the main menu, select the Module Information link. The following page will appear:

Please double-check that the new Firmware version is correctly reported as 4.30 hw0.

Note - A Firmware update does not cause any audio interruption.

Updating MCU Firmware on the XR-4FAD Module

Updating the XR-4FAD Module to FW v4.3.0 is required for adding the new Bargraph Dimming functionality.

  1. You can perform this step before or after the v3.1.0 Software update has been installed

  2. Open the XR-4FAD Web UI at the following address: IP address/debug/mcu

Updating MCU Firmware on the SR-4FAD Module

There is no Firmware update for the SR Modules.

Updating Firmware on the SmartKey Modules

  1. You can perform this step before or after the v3.1.0 Software update has been installed.

  2. Navigate to the SmartKeys page of the MTS-MON Web UI

  3. The SmartKey Module Setup page will appear.Quasar Control Center displaying SmartKey module setup and configuration options.

  4. Click on “Choose File”, navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it. The correct SmartKey FW file type is .sysInterface for updating firmware with file selection and update buttons displayed.

  5. Press the Update Firmware button. Once the page refreshes, hit F5 on your keyboard to refresh the browser tab and check that all connected Button Modules have been updated to the new version.

Updating the Quasar Engine

  1. Connect a PC to your console network.

  2. Open the Quasar Engine Web UI at the unit's base IP address (standard HTTP port 80).

  3. In the System menu, select Software.

  4. If both of the Engine’s software banks are used, and the “Choose File” option is not displayed here, select the bank currently in use and click the Commit button. Otherwise, skip this step.Button to commit changes to Bank O version in the interface.

  5. Click on “Choose File”, navigate to the location where you saved the update file, and select it.

  6. Wait until the software package appears in the field next to the button.

  7. Click on the Upload button. A message will appear to inform you that the file is being uploaded. Once complete, you will receive a confirmation message. Refresh the page.

  8. Select the new software bank by clicking on the radio buttonSoftware interface showing bank options, file upload, and reboot warning message.

  9. Click the Apply Selected Bank button.

    A dialog will appear asking for confirmation, and the system will be restarted.

Warning – When the Engine will reboots after selecting a new software bank, connections to the surface will be reset, and audio will be interrupted for more than one minute
